Founded in 1992, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge (TCWR) is one of only ten big cat and bear sanctuaries fully accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries in North America. Our mission focuses on rescue, animal care, and public education. Located near Eureka Springs, AR, TCWR cares for an average of 120 animals annually with a team of wildlife biologists, zoologists, and an on-staff veterinarian. The U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Fish & Wildlife rely on TCWR for the lifelong care of big cats confiscated due to abuse and neglect. As a 501(c) nonprofit, we do not receive government funding, relying solely on private donations to support the animals' care and feeding.
